Our verdict on OctoPerf
OctoPerf is a performance and load testing platform for engineering and QA teams. It supports JMeter-based protocol testing, REST API load testing, real-browser testing with Playwright, and browser metrics through Selenium WebDriver. Teams can run distributed tests across cloud regions, monitor servers and infrastructure, analyze response time, throughput, and errors, and deploy the product through SaaS or on-premise infrastructure. It fits organizations that need both web and API coverage rather than a tool focused on one testing method.
Pricing offers three distinct paths. The Free plan includes access to all SaaS platform features, with limits of 50 concurrent users and a 20-minute maximum test duration. Unlimited Performance costs $999 per month and adds unlimited tests, unlimited test duration, unlimited parallel runs, and full on-premise infrastructure availability. Pay-Per-Test starts at $99 per test hour and includes one test, up to one hour of test duration, and starting capacity of 1,000 virtual users. The structure suits teams that want to begin without a subscription or scale into recurring usage, while the free limits and paid thresholds may not fit every testing schedule.
OctoPerf’s ecosystem covers common performance-testing and delivery workflows. It supports Apache JMeter, Playwright, Selenium WebDriver, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, and Jira. Monitoring and observability connections include Datadog, Dynatrace, Elasticsearch, Graphite, and InfluxDB/Grafana, alongside REST API and CI/CD automation and external live reporting. Choose OctoPerf if JMeter compatibility, hybrid deployment, browser testing, and distributed execution matter together. Teams needing only short, small-scale checks may find the Free plan sufficient, while teams requiring longer or repeated runs should consider the paid plans and their limits.
