Our verdict on NovaBACKUP
NovaBACKUP is backup and disaster-recovery software for home users, businesses, professional offices, and managed service providers. It covers Windows PCs, laptops, workstations, servers, virtual machines, applications, and databases. Backup jobs can protect files and folders or capture full system images for disaster recovery, with local, cloud, or hybrid destinations. Centralized management, monitoring, encryption, reporting, and individual-file or full-system restoration make it suited to teams that need more control than a basic desktop backup utility.
Pricing is split between NovaBACKUP PC at $49.95 per year and NovaBACKUP Server at $399.95 per year. The PC plan includes Windows PC backup, file and image backup, local and cloud backup, and cloud storage options. The Server plan adds Windows Server backup, Hyper-V and VMware backup, Microsoft Exchange and SQL Server support, and local and cloud backup. A 15-day free trial is available, but there is no free plan. The plan structure makes the choice straightforward: PC is aimed at individual Windows systems, while Server is designed for server and application workloads.
Its strongest fit is a Windows-centered environment that needs scheduled jobs, incremental-forever backups, AES encryption, centralized monitoring, and multiple recovery paths. Integration with Microsoft Hyper-V, VMware vSphere and ESXi, SQL Server, Exchange Server, NAS and network shares, S3-compatible storage, and NovaBACKUP Cloud extends it beyond simple file copying. Buyers seeking mobile backup or broad platform coverage should look elsewhere, while Windows users managing computers, servers, or virtual machines should find the feature scope aligned with managed backup and restoration needs.
