Our verdict on NextBillion.ai Route Optimization

NextBillion.ai Route Optimization is a web-based planning and dispatch application for logistics, delivery, field-service, trucking, waste, food and beverage, and non-emergency medical transport operations. It is suited to teams managing complex routes across multiple vehicles, depots, drivers and service requirements. The platform supports up to 10,000 stops and can account for time windows, capacity, driver shifts, skills, traffic and vehicle restrictions. Dispatchers can edit routes, reassign jobs, import or export CSV files, and send optimized routes to drivers.

Its strongest fit is for operations that need more than static route planning. Traffic-informed routing and ETAs are paired with live job and driver status tracking, recurring weekly and monthly planning, and API-based route re-optimization. Driver workflows include dispatch, turn-by-turn navigation, task instructions, proof-of-delivery collection and alerts for route completion, delays and missed stops. The platform is available through web, iOS, Android and API access, with integrations for fleet and telematics systems including Samsara, Motive, Geotab, Verizon Connect and Azuga.

Pricing is structured around separate route-planning and driver-app offerings. The Grow plan is listed at $499 per month with annual billing and includes traffic-informed routing, capacity optimization, time-window adherence, service-time constraints, multi-depot optimization, and CSV import and export. Enterprise adds support for more than 5,000 orders per month and custom integrations. The Driver app is listed at $19 per driver per month with annual billing, while the starting price is also $19 per driver per month annually. A 14-day free trial is available, but there is no free plan. Choose it for constraint-heavy, high-volume fleet operations; smaller teams seeking a free or month-to-month option should look elsewhere.
