netcup VPS provides virtual private servers for individuals, developers, businesses and organizations. The VPS 500 G12 plan combines 2 vCore, 4 GB DDR5 ECC RAM and 128 GB NVMe storage, making it suited to workloads that need more storage without moving to a higher-cost plan. Customers can select server locations, use Linux distributions or install Windows themselves, and manage instances through the web-based control panel or REST API. The service is primarily self-managed, with separately managed vServer services available for maintenance, security updates and configuration support.
The published VPS 500 G12 plan costs €5.91 per month with annual billing and includes a traffic flatrate, snapshots and a remote management console. Its infrastructure features are a strong fit for users who want direct control over virtual x86 servers: KVM technology, preconfigured operating-system images, custom ISO and image imports, and Copy-On-Write snapshots support different deployment and recovery workflows. Expandable Local Block Storage is also available for workloads that outgrow the included 128 GB NVMe capacity.
The main trade-off is operational responsibility. Linux or Windows environments can be configured, but Windows is not supplied as a ready-made server, and customers must install it themselves using a 180-day test license.
