Our verdict on Neon
Neon is a Brazilian digital payment account managed through an iOS and Android app, aimed at people who want Pix and everyday banking functions on mobile. It supports Pix transfers, key portability and payments by scanning Pix text or QR codes with the phone camera. Customers can pay bills, top up mobile phones and use physical or virtual debit cards. Neon also offers CDB fixed-income investments, including daily-liquidity options, alongside a credit card application subject to credit analysis.
The product’s most distinctive angle is the link between its CDB investments and credit. Through Viracrédito, money invested in a CDB can be converted into credit-card limit. That makes Neon relevant to customers interested in connecting fixed-income savings with access to credit, while the CDB options include daily liquidity. Cashback is available on eligible debit and credit card purchases. Credit availability is not automatic: applications are subject to credit analysis, so the investment-linked option is not a general guarantee of card approval.
Neon states that account opening and maintenance have no charge, and its account is listed at R$ 0,00. That does not mean every service is free: some services and inactivity-related conditions may incur fees, including a possible prepaid physical debit-card service fee after 360 days without activity. The app account itself has no stated recurring fee. Choose Neon if Pix, mobile payments, debit cards and CDB-linked credit are the priorities; consider alternatives if a broader verified account feature set is central to the decision or if credit access without analysis is essential.
