Our verdict on N2WS Backup & Recovery

N2WS Backup & Recovery is a cloud-native backup and disaster-recovery platform for teams running Amazon EKS alongside AWS and other cloud workloads. Its policy-based scheduling covers clusters and namespaces, while EBS snapshots protect persistent volumes. Recovery can target the original cluster or another EKS cluster, with controls for namespace selection and renaming. Cluster-scoped recovery includes CRDs and RBAC resources, making the product relevant to organizations that need more than persistent-volume protection.

Pricing is paid and starts with the Standard plan at $249 per month, billed monthly. Standard includes VPC Backup, Cross Region/Account support, and 2TB of unattached storage. Advanced adds 10TB of unattached storage, SAP HANA Backup, and S3 Bucket Sync. Enterprise adds 50TB of unattached storage, Archive to Glacier, and 3rd-Party Monitoring. Enterprise+ adds 500+TB of unattached storage, support for 1000+ Instances / VMs, and 100+ Accounts. A 30-day free trial is available. The published plan details make N2WS a fit for organizations that can justify paid disaster-recovery coverage rather than teams seeking a free Kubernetes backup option.

The product’s broader value comes from combining EKS protection with related cloud resources, including Amazon RDS, in unified policies. Integrations also include Amazon EBS, S3, EC2, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, and Wasabi, with web, CLI, and RESTful API access. Retention can be managed by generations or duration, and immutable controls apply to EBS, S3, Wasabi, and Azure backups. EKS immutability and air-gapped vault support are not available. Choose N2WS for granular AWS EKS recovery across clusters, regions, and accounts; consider another product if EKS-specific immutable backup is a requirement.
