Our verdict on MyShield

MyShield is an email aliasing and forwarding service for privacy-conscious individuals and teams. It creates private addresses at myshield.world and forwards incoming messages to an existing inbox, helping users avoid exposing their real email address. Users can delete aliases to block future mail, pause and resume them, apply custom labels, and use spam and threat filtering. Delivery works with Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, Apple Mail, Proton Mail, Fastmail, and iCloud.

Pricing follows a freemium structure. The Free plan costs ZAR 0 per month and includes instant email forwarding, compatibility with any inbox, and alias management. Pro costs ZAR 75 per month and adds 20 aliases, custom labels, pause and resume controls, replies from an alias, custom-domain support, and priority support. Business costs ZAR 149 per month and includes 50 aliases alongside the same listed paid features and priority support. The paid tiers therefore suit users who need more control than basic forwarding, particularly custom domains or two-way alias communication.

MyShield’s main strength is its focused privacy workflow: create an alias, route mail to an existing inbox, and delete or pause the address when needed. Its integrations cover common personal and privacy-oriented mail services, while web access keeps the product centered on browser-based management. The feature set is narrower than a broader email-management suite, and reply functionality is reserved for paid plans. Choose MyShield for straightforward alias protection and forwarding; users who specifically need app-based access or a wider platform footprint should consider another service.
