Our verdict on DuckDuckGo Email Protection
DuckDuckGo Email Protection is a free email forwarding service for individuals who want to reduce email tracking without replacing their existing inbox. It provides a personal Duck Address plus unlimited automatically generated private Duck Addresses. Messages forward to an existing email account, while hidden email trackers are removed. The service also supports replying to messages and composing new messages from a personal Duck Address, giving users more than one-way forwarding.
Its strongest fit is privacy-focused personal email. Users can create separate private addresses for different sign-ups and deactivate individual addresses when needed. Autofill helps place personal or private addresses into email fields. The service works across web, Windows, macOS, iOS, Android and the Chrome extension, and integrates with Gmail, Outlook, Apple Mail and Proton. That combination makes it practical for people who want tracker removal and address separation across common browsers, devices and mail clients.
The main trade-off is its narrow personal focus. DuckDuckGo Email Protection forwards messages into an existing inbox, so it is not a standalone mailbox or a broader team email system. Access is centered on DuckDuckGo browsers, supported desktop browser extensions and DuckDuckGo mobile browsers. Choose it if you want free forwarding, unlimited private addresses and tracker removal while keeping your current email account. Consider another type of email alias service if you need team-oriented workflows or a separate mailbox rather than forwarding to an existing inbox.
