Our verdict on myCANAL

Now presented as the CANAL+ app, myCANAL brings live and replay television together with on-demand programs included in a subscriber’s offer. Its TV+ option is aimed at viewers in metropolitan France who want a broad selection of French channels and selected CANAL+ programs in one place. The listed lineup includes more than 80 channels, all TNT channels, and more than 20,000 hours of content. Personalized profiles and recommendations make it more suited to households with different viewing interests than a simple live-channel viewer, though the listed limit is one simultaneous stream.

Viewing flexibility is a central strength. Live rewind lets viewers go back during a broadcast, while downloads support offline viewing. Playlists provide a place to save content, and the weekly TV guide and top-program listings help viewers find what is on. This mix covers live television and catch-up use without making the offer solely about a particular genre such as sports. The TV+ option also includes thematic and digital channels alongside TNT channels and selected CANAL+ programs.

The app is listed for web, Windows, macOS, iOS and Android, with support also described for connected TVs, streaming devices and game consoles. Chromecast and AirPlay are listed for casting. That breadth makes it a fit for viewers who switch between mobile and television screens. Buyers should check that their device and territory are covered, since channel lineups may change and access depends on the offer and territory. TV+ is a related package rather than the complete range of CANAL+ subscriptions, so viewers seeking the full subscription range should compare those offers separately.
