Our verdict on Minefort
Minefort, run by Minefort.com B.V. in Amsterdam, gives free servers 1 GB of RAM, a plugin manager, a web file manager and an FTP server, with no credit card required and up to three servers per account. Every server is part of the Minefort network, so players can reach it from the play.minefort.com lobby with /join, and dashboard toggles let Bedrock players and offline-mode clients connect to a Java server.
Free servers are not online around the clock: the owner wakes one from the dashboard, while paid plans are the ones Minefort describes as running 24/7. A free server that goes unused for three days is locked rather than deleted, stays stored in Minefort's cloud and has to be unlocked by staff on Discord, and the free dashboard shows ads. The first paid plan, Cottage, costs $5.99 a month for 2 GB and 35 players and stays online, House costs $11.49 for 4 GB, and new accounts get a 5-day refund window on paid plans.
Modded players will find little here yet: Minefort supports only a selection of mods and describes one-click installs as upcoming, and voice-chat mods are ruled out because servers don't get extra ports. The web file manager can't download files, so local backups need FTP. Owners of small plugin servers who log in often will be comfortable; anyone who wants a modpack or a server that runs while they're away should look elsewhere.
