Our verdict on Materium
Materium is a web-based game collection tracker and backlog tool for players organizing games across platforms. It supports Steam synchronization, manual game entry, statuses such as backlog, playing, completed, wishlist, and abandoned, plus reviews, ratings, recommendations, release tracking, and statistics. Its strongest fit is for players who want detailed progress tracking across Steam and PlayStation rather than a simple list of owned games.
The free Explorer plan provides unlimited collection entries, Steam auto-sync, manual entry, game search and metadata, and basic statistics. It also includes an annual wrap-up and shareable cards marked as coming soon. Collector costs $4 per month or $39 per year and includes everything in Explorer, removes ads, and adds achievement and trophy tracking. The plan also lists support for lists, sale alerts, and advanced stats and history, with those features marked as coming soon. The annual option lowers the stated monthly equivalent, while both paid options use the same listed feature set.
Materium’s depth comes from connecting collection management with play history. Users can log playtime and sessions, add notes and spoiler tags, track completion rates and playtime history, and follow Steam achievements and PlayStation trophies. Steam wishlist synchronization and a release calendar extend its planning tools, while community discovery, reviews, ratings, and recommendations help with choosing what to play next. The trade-off is a web-only experience without custom lists or export, so players who need portable data or highly personal organization should choose another tracker. Materium suits Steam- and PlayStation-focused players who value progress detail, history, and platform-linked tracking.
