Our verdict on BAKLOG

BAKLOG is a local-first game-library and backlog dashboard for players whose collections span multiple storefronts. It imports and deduplicates games from Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG, PlayStation, Xbox, Amazon, Battle.net, Ubisoft Connect, Nintendo Switch, itch.io, Humble Bundle, and EA App. The desktop application runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux and is open source under the MIT license. Its core audience is anyone who wants one organized view of games spread across different services rather than separate store libraries.

Library organization is BAKLOG’s strongest area. Games can be assigned statuses such as Backlog, Playing, and Finished, while custom ordered Picks lists support up to three user-named tabs. The table can include playtime, last-played, review, and completion data, and dashboard analytics provide backlog statistics. Wishlist deal radar adds ownership-aware sale checks, while the Claimable Now feed surfaces free games. These features make BAKLOG suitable for players who want to turn a large, mixed-store collection into an actionable queue. The Free plan includes library import and browsing, manual refresh one store at a time, and the Claimable Now full-game feed.

The main trade-off is the split between local-first organization and optional cloud features. BAKLOG stores credentials locally with encryption, while cloud sync for catalogs and personal statuses is opt-in. The Pro plan adds scheduled stale-store refresh, queued bulk refresh, deep achievement and trophy sync, and cloud sync. Players who want automated updating, deeper achievement tracking, or synchronized personal status data should consider Pro. Those who need mobile access, or prefer a product outside open beta, should look elsewhere. For desktop players prioritizing broad store coverage, deduplication, and detailed backlog management, BAKLOG is a focused fit.
