A broad backup service built around a local recovery appliance and MSP integrations.

Mastermind Backup combines cloud backup with a local disaster-recovery appliance for individuals, small and medium-sized businesses, larger organizations, and managed service providers. It covers Windows, Linux, Mac, iOS, and Android workloads, along with servers, workstations, full systems, applications, and cloud services. Administration and self-service file recovery are handled through a web console, while API access supports platform connectivity. The overall fit is strongest for service providers that need centralized backup management and appliance-based recovery rather than a basic file-copy tool.
According to the published plan, Mastermind Unlimited Local backup costs CAD 1,999 as a one-time payment. That plan includes a full server image, up-to-the-minute backups, a 500 GB solid-state drive, 4 TB of expandable storage, Canadian data-centre storage, and 256K AES encryption with 128K SSL connections. The product also lists incremental backups, scheduled jobs, file search, self-service recovery, instant restore, and universal restore. Ransomware protection uses Acronis Active Protection, with daily automated virus and ransomware scans. This combination gives the service a wide recovery scope, but the upfront appliance cost is a significant consideration for smaller deployments.
Its ecosystem is particularly relevant to managed service providers. Integrations include Odin, HostBill, Flexiant, WHMCS, ConnectWise, Autotask, and LabTech, alongside Microsoft Azure, Office 365, Microsoft Exchange, and SQL. Backup data is stored in Canadian data centres, and encrypted transfer and storage are part of the offering. Choose Mastermind Backup when server recovery, mixed workload coverage, ransomware protection, and MSP integrations matter. Organizations seeking only straightforward file backup, or preferring a lower upfront commitment without appliance hardware, should consider a narrower alternative.
