Our verdict on MarkupGo
MarkupGo is a hosted REST API for developers and businesses that need to generate images or PDFs from URLs, HTML, Markdown or reusable templates. It supports HTML, CSS and JavaScript templates, with output options for PNG, JPEG and WebP images and configurable PDF documents. The dashboard includes template management, usage analytics and image transformation tools. It is aimed at programmatic creation of assets such as invoices, reports, social graphics and certificates, rather than manual design work.
Rendering controls are a central strength: image output can be configured by width, height, format and clipping, while PDF settings include page size, margins, scaling and single-page output. Custom PDF headers, footers and metadata support document-specific output. Wait delays and DOM-expression conditions give workflows a way to wait for page content before rendering. The Image Transformation API adds resizing, cropping, rotation and filtering, making the service relevant to teams that need both rendering and subsequent image operations. API-key authentication runs over HTTPS, and generated files and task records expire.
According to the published monthly plans, Lite costs $29 per month, Plus $49 and Pro $99. Each lists full API access, the Image Transformation API, custom domains, reports, activity logs and task priority, so those listed features do not distinguish the tiers. The site describes a perpetual 100-credit monthly allowance as a free trial, rather than presenting a separate $0 plan. MarkupGo is a cloud service with web and API access, email and chat support, documentation and GDPR compliance.
