Our verdict on Markate
Markate is a service operations platform for contractors and home-service businesses, including electricians. It brings together customer records, estimates, proposals, scheduling, dispatching, work orders, invoicing, payments, job costing, employee coordination, reporting, reminders, and customer portals. Web access and mobile apps for iOS and Android support office staff and field teams, while offline access covers schedules and work orders. It is aimed at solo operators that want a wide set of administrative and field-service functions in one system.
Pricing has two Owner Operator options: $49.95 per month with monthly billing or $39.95 per month with annual billing. The Team plan costs $5 per employee per month with monthly billing, plus the base price, and adds employee access, roles and access, job assignment, time tracking, and team chat. A 14-day free trial is available, but there is no free plan. The paid feature set covers customer management, quoting and approvals, recurring jobs, checklists, job photos, expense tracking, profitability reporting, online booking, automated follow-ups, and location tracking.
Markate also fits businesses that need connections beyond core scheduling and work orders. Integrations include QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Payroll, Google Calendar, Google Contacts, CompanyCam, Square, PayPal, Wisetack, ResponsiBid, NiceJob, Zapier, and Twilio. Choose it if you value breadth, mobile access, customer-facing tools, and accounting or payment connections at a comparatively low starting price. A narrower tool may be preferable for operators who only need basic scheduling or invoicing and do not want a platform with many operational areas.
