Our verdict on MapperTool
MapperTool is a browser-based photogrammetry service that turns drone or other geotagged camera imagery into georeferenced maps and 3D data. It is aimed at surveyors, construction teams, farmers and property professionals who need to view, measure or download project outputs without a desktop workflow. Processing runs in the cloud, and plans are suited to solo users through mid-market teams working on small projects.
The free plan is non-trial and does not require a card; it includes orthomosaics, digital surface and terrain models, and 3D point clouds. According to the vendor’s pricing page, Plus costs €15 per month and Pro costs €29 per month when billed annually, with monthly billing also offered. Plus retains the core outputs and adds normal processing priority, while Pro adds NDVI vegetation and thermal outputs plus fast processing priority. Plan prices are monthly equivalents on annual billing, and processing is limited to 750 images, so larger projects or frequent high-volume work may need another fit.
The online viewer brings map layers and 3D point-cloud views together with distance, area, volume and height measurements. Projects can be shared through links with expiry and permissions, and users can download projects; raster outputs include CRS information. Orthomosaics and raster outputs are available as GeoTIFF, and point clouds as LAZ. MapperTool makes sense for budget-conscious teams that want core mapping outputs and browser-based review, with Pro a fit when vegetation or thermal mapping matters. Teams requiring desktop processing or projects beyond the image limit should consider alternatives.
