Our verdict on Lumu Defender
Lumu Defender is a compromise-assessment and response platform for security operations teams that want endpoint network visibility connected to wider security systems. It collects metadata from DNS, network flows, access logs, and email sources, then provides continuous assessment and visibility into confirmed indicators of compromise. Its endpoint agent monitors roaming devices and can automatically block selected connections to adversarial infrastructure. This makes it a fit for teams extending compromise assessment to endpoints, rather than organizations seeking a conventional endpoint antivirus or EDR replacement.
The product’s endpoint role is deliberately narrower than endpoint detection and response. A dashboard manages endpoint agent groups and deployment status, while the agent contributes network metadata and device-level compromise visibility. Lumu Defender does not include EDR or XDR, and its listed capabilities do not cover mobile security or server protection. Teams that need endpoint telemetry and selected connection blocking alongside compromise assessment may find that focus relevant; those prioritizing full endpoint detection and response should compare dedicated EDR products instead.
Integrations connect Lumu Defender with endpoint tools such as SentinelOne, CrowdStrike Falcon, Microsoft Defender, and Sophos Endpoint Protection, as well as network, cloud, and SecOps systems including FortiGate, Cisco Umbrella, Microsoft Sentinel, AWS VPC, Google Cloud VPC, Slack, and Microsoft Teams. Out-of-the-box integrations support response, data collection, and SecOps workflows, and a Defender API is available for custom security integrations. A free plan is available; according to the vendor’s pricing page, paid pricing and exact paid-plan terms are not established here. The product is available for cloud or self-hosted deployment, with documentation as a support channel, so buyers should weigh integration fit and the narrower endpoint scope before choosing it.
