Our verdict on LRM

LRM is an open-source localization toolkit for developers and teams managing translation files across applications. Its CLI, terminal, VS Code and web interfaces support .resx, JSON, i18next, Android, iOS, PO and XLIFF resources. The focus is practical workflow control: validate translation keys, edit language files, coordinate review and synchronize changes. It suits developers who want file-oriented localization tools with self-hosting available, rather than a service limited to browser-based translation management.

Key validation is a central strength: LRM checks for missing, empty, duplicate and inconsistent translation keys. A spreadsheet-style web editor adds search and filtering, while translation memory offers exact and fuzzy match reuse. Glossaries can be managed at project and organization level, and review statuses run from pending through approved. Machine translation is available through multiple providers, including BYOK and free providers. CLI cloud synchronization includes snapshots and conflict strategies, and integrations include GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, Jenkins and a REST API. These features make LRM a fit for teams that want localization checks close to their development workflow; .NET teams can also use over-the-air translation updates.

The cloud plans are priced monthly: Free costs $0 and includes free providers and community support; Team costs $9 per month and adds unlimited projects, up to 10 team members and priority support; Enterprise costs $29 per month and includes unlimited projects, unlimited team members and dedicated support. The project can also be self-hosted with Docker, which gives teams a deployment choice but may suit technically comfortable developers better than those seeking a fully managed-only workflow. LRM is a strong match for price-conscious teams that value key validation, translation memory and CI/CD integration. Organizations that need support beyond community channels on the free tier should consider whether a paid plan fits their support needs.
