Our verdict on Livedrive Backup

Livedrive Backup is an online backup service for consumers and small businesses that protects files and media across Windows, macOS, iOS and Android. It automatically backs up files from Windows PCs and Apple Macs, while mobile apps support backup of photos and videos from iPhones and iPads and media and documents from Android phones and tablets. The service is aimed at people who want cloud protection for everyday computer files and mobile content, with access through the web and companion apps.

Its standout strength is the combination of backup and access features. Stored documents, music, videos and pictures can be reached remotely, while mobile apps support document viewing and editing, music and video streaming, and file sharing. That makes Livedrive Backup more useful for accessing an existing library than a service limited to recovery after a computer failure. Recovery is also documented for device loss, theft and ransomware, giving the product a clear role in personal data protection. Files are stored in UK-based data centers.

Livedrive Backup is a paid service with no free plan, so it suits buyers who are ready to pay for ongoing cloud backup rather than those seeking a no-cost option. Its scope is also narrower than products built for complete system imaging or server protection: the published category details define file backup and file restore. Choose it if your priority is automatic protection for computer files, phone photos, videos and documents, plus remote access to that content. Consider an alternative if you need server backup, full-system recovery or a free starting tier.
