Our verdict on LICENSEWARE

LICENSEWARE is a modular software asset management platform for IT, procurement, compliance, SAM, and consulting teams managing software estates. It ingests usage, deployment, infrastructure, discovery, inventory, ITSM, contract, and entitlement data, then supports software recognition, license analysis, renewals, optimization, audit support, and software request workflows. Browser-based apps cover general inventory and licensing scenarios for Microsoft, Oracle, Red Hat, and Adobe, with web, Windows, macOS, Linux, and API support.

Pricing is structured for different levels of SAM coverage. The Free plan includes unlimited data uploads, full app functionality, and unrestricted NEO features, while reports are limited to 10 rows per table. PAYG costs $1 per device one-time and supports consumption-based access to any apps or all apps on demand, with volume discounts applicable. Chill costs $150 per month and adds contract and license management, software inventory analysis, and instant answers to licensing questions. Core costs $3.36 per device per year and adds API connectors for any data source, premium support, and onboarding. Advanced adds complex-vendor analysis and extended support by SAM experts.

Its integration list includes Lansweeper, Microsoft SCCM, Microsoft Intune, Flexera, Snow License Manager, ServiceNow, Red Hat Satellite, vCenter, BigFix, IBM HMC, Jamf Pro, NinjaOne, ManageEngine, PDQ Inventory, and CrowdStrike. The platform also includes AI-assisted licensing questions, contract analysis, and insights, alongside software rationalization and functional-overlap analysis. Teams wanting broad compliance, contract, optimization, workflow, and integration coverage at a low entry cost should consider LICENSEWARE. Teams needing unrestricted reporting on the Free plan or advanced vendor analysis without the Advanced tier should look elsewhere.
