Kong Konnect is a cloud-managed API management platform for organizations that need to build, operate, discover, govern, and publish APIs. It combines a hosted control plane with Kong-managed or customer-hosted data planes, supporting hybrid deployments across cloud, on-premises, Kubernetes, and virtual machines. Its audience includes smaller API programs using Plus as well as medium and larger organizations managing high-volume, business-critical traffic with Enterprise.
Pricing is structured around deployment models rather than one universal subscription. The Free trial lasts 30 days and includes enterprise functionality, no Gateway limits, and analytics retained for 30 days. Plus - Serverless Gateway starts at $25 per control plane per month and includes up to 5 Serverless Gateways, up to 2 Hybrid Gateways, up to 2 Dedicated Cloud Gateways, a Developer Portal, API publishing, and advanced analytics. Plus - Hybrid Gateway costs $200 per control plane per month, while Plus - Dedicated Cloud Gateway costs $500 and adds Kong-managed infrastructure, AWS, GCP, or Azure region options, and a 99.99% SLA.
