Jottacloud is a cloud storage, backup, synchronization, and file-sharing service for individuals, families, professionals, and businesses. Its strongest fit is for users who want automatic protection for files, photos, and videos across computers and mobile devices, with additional tools for sharing, archiving, recovery, and photo organization. Access is available through web, Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android applications, with command-line backup tools for Linux and other systems.
The plan structure covers several storage and usage patterns. The 5 GB plan supports one user, backup for all devices, and email and chat support. Unlimited is for one user and includes backup for all devices, although upload speed is gradually reduced after 5 TB. Home 1 TB and Home 5 TB support five users and have no bandwidth limitation. Pro plans range from 10 TB to 50 TB for one user, adding priority support, maximum speed, and commercial licensing. This makes the lineup relevant to families and commercial users as well as individual backup needs.
Jottacloud’s standout area is its combination of automatic backup and photo management. AI-powered photo search, archive storage for freeing local space, file version history retaining the last five versions, and 30-day trash recovery extend its role beyond basic file storage. Two-way synchronization, shared folders, and links support ongoing collaboration, while Microsoft Office Online provides the listed productivity integration. Jottacloud states that customer data is stored in Norway and documents encryption at rest and in transit, but it does not offer customer-controlled private encryption keys. Choose it for broad platform coverage, automatic backup, and photo-focused storage; users seeking a larger integration ecosystem or private encryption-key control should consider an alternative.
