Our verdict on iVCam
iVCam turns an Android or iOS phone or tablet into a webcam for a Windows PC. It suits remote workers, streamers, monitors, and recording workflows that need more camera control than a typical integrated webcam provides. Connections can run over Wi-Fi or USB, and the Windows client sends video to webcam-compatible applications. Multiple mobile devices can connect to one PC, while wireless microphone support adds an audio option for compatible setups.
Its strongest area is camera control and image customization. iVCam supports resolutions up to 4K, configurable frame rates, video quality, and encoders, plus adjustments for exposure, ISO, exposure compensation, white balance, focus, and zoom. Users can switch among front, rear, wide-angle, and telephoto cameras. Background blur, bokeh, mosaic, green screen, and image or video replacement extend its use beyond basic webcam replacement. The Windows client also supports snapshots and video recording.
Pricing is straightforward: the 1 Year subscription costs $12.95 per year, while the Permanent plan costs $25.95 one time. Both provide a PC client license code, remove the watermark and app advertisements, and unlock full features. The main trade-offs are the paid-only model, the Windows-centered PC setup, and restrictions on background removal after the trial expires. Choose iVCam if you want a mobile device to serve as a high-resolution webcam with extensive controls. Choose an alternative if you need a free plan or a PC client for another desktop platform.
