Our verdict on iRender
iRender provides dedicated cloud GPU workstations for teams that want to configure a remote environment for 3D rendering and other GPU-intensive work. It is aimed at artists and studios whose workflow benefits from choosing their own software, plugins, and versions rather than handing jobs to a conventional managed render farm. Workstations are accessed through Remote Desktop and run Windows or Ubuntu. Single- and multi-GPU configurations support applications including Blender, Cinema 4D, Houdini, Maya, Redshift, Octane, V-Ray, and Unreal Engine.
Its plans scale by GPU count and model. GPU Cloud Workstation 3S (RTX 4090) starts at $8.20 per node-hour and includes one RTX 4090, 24 GB VRAM, 256 GB RAM, and 2 TB NVMe storage. RTX 4090 options go up to eight GPUs at $52 per node-hour. RTX 5090 options start at $10.80 for one GPU and rise to $62 per node-hour for eight GPUs; those GPUs have 32 GB VRAM each. All listed plans include 256 GB RAM, 2 TB NVMe storage, and Windows or Ubuntu. Billing is by node-hour, so teams should match the configuration and runtime to project needs; the vendor's pricing page also lists a 10% discount for bookings of three hours or more.
The main distinction is control: users can install custom software and plugins, retain machine images between sessions, and transfer files through iRender Sync, SFTP, or HTTPS. Thinkbox Deadline integration supports farm management, while the broad application list makes the service relevant across multiple 3D workflows. These choices come with workstation setup and management responsibilities, and the per-node hourly approach can cost more than a conventional managed render-farm service. Pick iRender when configurable GPU machines and software control matter; consider an alternative if you want a managed queue-first farm rather than remote workstations.
