Invoice Ninja is invoicing and payment software for freelancers, contractors, consultants, agencies, and small businesses. It covers invoice and quote creation, recurring billing, online payments, client portals, payment reminders, expense and vendor tracking, billable time, projects, and financial reports. The product is available as a hosted web application, with native apps for iOS, Android, macOS, Windows, and Linux. An open-source, self-hosted edition is also available for organizations that manage their own infrastructure.
Pricing is structured around a useful free entry point and three paid options. The Free plan costs $0 per account on an ongoing basis and supports up to 5 clients, unlimited invoicing, recurring invoices, auto-billing, online payment gateways, and a client invoice and payment portal. Ninja Pro costs $14 per user per month, billed monthly, and adds unlimited clients and invoices, automatic late-payment reminder emails, reports, REST API access, and a branded portal URL. Enterprise costs $18 per user per month and adds user permissions, bank account sync, e-Invoicing and PEPPOL access, a custom-domain portal, and document uploads. Premium Business adds developer concierge, priority direct support, migration assistance, custom reports, and invoice design services through custom pricing.
Platform coverage is a central strength for teams that want choice in how they operate. Invoice Ninja connects with Stripe, PayPal, Square, GoCardless, Authorize.net, and Mollie for payments, while Zapier, Make, Pabbly, n8n, Gmail, and Microsoft extend workflow options. Its API and self-hosting support can suit organizations that need integrations or infrastructure control. Choose it for flexible billing and collections without a large software commitment. Teams needing deeper enterprise accounts-receivable capabilities may prefer a broader enterprise-focused alternative.
