Our verdict on HostedMetrics

HostedMetrics is a cloud monitoring service for software infrastructure, applications, servers, and IoT devices. It provides managed Prometheus and InfluxDB deployments, Grafana dashboards, alerting, notification routing, metrics ingestion, Kubernetes monitoring, and access auditing. Teams can send data through scrape targets, remote write, PushGateway, StatsD, MQTT, and CloudWatch. It is aimed at organizations that want hosted monitoring without operating the underlying metrics platform.

Pricing is organized around metric volume and team size. Startup costs $79 per month with annual billing or $95 per month with monthly billing, covering 5,000 metrics or more, 10-second resolution, two-year retention, unlimited alerts, four team members, and user roles. Professional costs $329 per month annually or $395 monthly, with 35,000 metrics or more and 10 team members. Business costs $829 annually or $995 monthly, with 150,000 metrics or more and 25 team members. Enterprise adds white-labeled Grafana, migration assistance, priority support, an improved SLA, and volume discounts. A 14-day trial is available, but there is no perpetual free plan.

Its ecosystem supports Amazon Web Services, Amazon CloudWatch, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes, Docker, Nginx, GitHub, CircleCI, Collectd, Slack, Telegram, Webhooks, PagerDuty, and VictorOps. The combination of managed Prometheus, InfluxDB, multiple ingestion methods, discovery, Kubernetes support, and two-year retention suits teams with established infrastructure-monitoring needs. Choose HostedMetrics if you want managed metrics systems and broad integration options; consider another product if you need serverless or synthetic monitoring, or if avoiding a paid starting tier is important.
