Aloy’s journey in Horizon Forbidden West is a single-player action role-playing adventure set in a post-apocalyptic version of the western United States. Players explore a far-future America, encounter new tribes and machines, and pursue story quests about a blight threatening life on Earth. It suits players who want a story-led open-world adventure with tactical combat and crafting, rather than a multiplayer game or online co-op experience.
The PlayStation editions are one-time purchases. Standard Edition (PS4) costs $39.99 and includes a digital upgrade to the PS5 version; Standard Edition (PS4 and PS5) costs $49.99. Complete Edition (PS5) costs $59.99 and adds the Burning Shores story expansion and bonus content. The Complete Edition is also available for PC. That makes the PS4 edition the lower-cost entry point, while the Complete Edition is the option for players who want the expansion bundled in.
