Our verdict on HIVO
HIVO is a cloud-based digital asset management platform for teams managing brand, marketing and other digital content. Its centralized library supports photos, videos, transcripts, PDFs, spreadsheets, design files, audio and documents. Teams can organize assets with custom metadata fields, tags and taxonomies, then search by keywords, file type, faces, users, dates and colour codes. AI adds tagging and search for objects, people, text, scenes, sentiment and activities, while facial recognition and location-based search support more targeted discovery.
For review and production workflows, HIVO combines online proofing, commenting and markup with multi-stage upload, download, version and asset approval processes. Automated versioning retains previous versions, and external sharing links provide guest review access. Archiving and license-expiry controls help teams manage asset lifecycles. Integrations include Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma, Microsoft 365 and Office, Canva, Monday.com, Drupal, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Google Drive, SharePoint and Dropbox. API access is also available for programmatic access to platform data, making the product a fit for teams connecting asset management to broader content operations.
