Hightail review
A file transfer service that adds review, approval, and project workflows.

Hightail is a cloud-based service for sending, receiving, storing, and tracking large files. It suits creative teams that need more than a basic transfer link, with Spaces for file organization, recipient notifications, protected links, configurable expiration, access codes, and download tracking. Recipients can receive files without Hightail accounts. Its collaboration tools add comments, annotations, versions, approvals, project tasks, and dashboards for teams managing creative review and delivery.
The plan structure covers individual transfers through larger team workflows. Lite includes a 100MB file send limit, 2GB of storage, and seven-day send expiration. Pro costs $12 per month on annual billing and raises the send limit to 25GB, with unlimited storage, configurable expiration, download tracking, and custom branding available as an add-on. Teams costs $24 per user per month on annual billing and adds a 50GB send limit, creative collaboration, project management features, and custom branding. Business costs $36 per user per month on annual billing, with a 500GB send limit, advanced collaboration, project management features, and custom branding. A 14-day free trial is also available.
Hightail fits teams whose transfer process includes review and approval rather than delivery alone. Its ecosystem includes Dropbox, Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive, Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft Outlook, OpenText Core, OpenText Media Management, and Zapier. Access spans web, Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, and an API for automated file sends. The trade-off is tiering: the 25GB Pro limit may not suit larger transfers, while creative collaboration and project management are reserved for Teams and Business. Choose Hightail for structured creative delivery; choose a simpler transfer service if those workflows are unnecessary.
