Our verdict on Hi.Events

Hi.Events is an event management and ticketing platform for conferences, workshops, meetups, festivals, concerts, club nights, and community events. It supports in-person and virtual events with branded event pages, paid and free tickets, donation and tiered products, registration questions, online-event access details, attendee messaging, reporting, and browser-based check-in. Organizers can choose managed cloud delivery or self-host the open-source software under AGPL.

The self-hosted AGPL plan is free forever and includes all features, but requires your own infrastructure and keeps a Powered by Hi.Events link. The Standard commercial licence costs €499 per year for one production domain, unlimited events, tickets, and attendees, removal of that link, plus updates and support while subscribed. The Platform commercial licence costs €2,499 per year and adds support for hosting other organizers’ events, unlimited organizations and client accounts, a SaaS admin dashboard, and priority email support. Cloud pricing is transaction-based with no monthly fee.

Its feature set is centered on event registration and ticket operations. Customizable checkout, embeddable checkout widgets, Stripe and Stripe Connect support, configurable attendee data collection, promo-code and tax reporting, reusable email templates, and QR, camera, USB-scanner, or search-based check-in cover the main operational workflow. Hi.Events also supports online events, but it does not offer a combined online-plus-venue mode. Teams needing a self-hosted ticketing system with broad event administration should consider it; organizers requiring attendee-app or exhibitor functionality should choose an alternative.
