Heap review
Automatic capture, replay, funnels, and retention analysis for web and app teams.

Heap is a digital analytics and product insights platform for teams that need to understand customer behavior across websites and apps. It automatically captures interactions such as clicks, pageviews, form submissions, and other events, then turns that activity into charts, conversion funnels, retention reports, journeys, segmentation, and session replay. Product, marketing, design, engineering, and ecommerce teams can use it across web, iOS, Android, and cross-platform applications, with APIs for custom events, identity, and additional behavioral data.
Heap uses a freemium plan structure. The Free plan includes core analytics charts, unlimited enrichment sources, Guides integrations, SSO, 6 months of data history, and up to 10k monthly sessions. Growth adds the AI Powered Assistant, unlimited users and reports, chart customization, CSV exports, and 12 months of data history. Pro adds account analytics, engagement matrix, report alerts, standard support, and Session Replay as an add-on. Premier adds data warehouse integration, behavioral targeting, unlimited projects, advanced user permissions, and a dedicated CSM. This progression suits teams that want to begin with automatic capture and add reporting, governance, and account-level analysis as requirements grow.
The platform connects with Salesforce, Shopify, Marketo, Snowflake, Amazon Redshift, BigQuery, Segment, and Google Tag Manager. Heap Connect supports data warehouse connectivity, while privacy controls can exclude sensitive information and identity management can connect users across sessions and devices. The main constraint for smaller teams is the Free plan’s 10k monthly-session limit and 6-month history; Session Replay also sits outside the standard Pro feature set. Choose Heap when automatic event capture and session-based analysis are central to the workflow. Teams needing fewer analysis layers or a simpler tracking tool may prefer a narrower alternative.
