  • Where it wins

    • eBPF and Linux kernel statistics without application instrumentation
    • Service discovery, network-flow monitoring, and service maps
    • Free, GPLv3-licensed software with REST APIs and alerting
  • Where it doesn't

    • Linux-only coverage limits cross-platform infrastructure monitoring

    • Self-hosted deployment requires managing its monitoring components

Our verdict on Gyeeta

Gyeeta is a free, GPLv3-licensed observability tool for Linux hosts, services, processes, network flows, and clusters. It is designed for Linux teams that need infrastructure and service visibility without changing application code. The product combines a host monitoring agent with central and intermediate servers, a web server, REST APIs, alerting components, and PostgreSQL-backed storage. Deployment can run on-premises or in cloud environments, including Kubernetes, through packages, containers, Helm charts, scripts, or manual installation.

The published model is open source and free, so there are no paid plan distinctions to compare. Its feature set centers on Linux-specific depth: eBPF and kernel statistics collection, service and process discovery without application instrumentation, and monitoring for CPU, memory, I/O, and resource bottlenecks. Gyeeta also supports anomaly, contention, and degradation detection, along with cluster-wide aggregation and querying. Those capabilities make it a strong fit when service maps and low-level Linux telemetry matter more than a broad multi operating-system footprint.

Operationally, Gyeeta offers a web UI, REST APIs, realtime and query-based alerts, and notifications through email, Slack, PagerDuty, and webhooks. The architecture supports self-hosted deployments, but monitored hosts require the Gyeeta host agent. That requirement rules out an agentless monitoring approach and adds an installation component for each monitored host. Teams should choose Gyeeta when they want an open-source Linux monitoring stack with eBPF visibility, service discovery, flow monitoring, and flexible deployment options. It is less suitable for organizations that require native coverage beyond Linux or prefer a fully managed monitoring service.
