Gibbed Save Editor is a free collection of downloadable Windows desktop tools for modifying character save files in selected Borderlands and Mass Effect games. It is aimed at players working with Borderlands 2, Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, and Mass Effect 2 saves who want direct control over progression, equipment, currencies, or other character data. Depending on the game, the editors can change levels, experience, skills, missions, weapons, weapon parts, money, Eridium, and raw save data. The collection was created by programmer and modder Rick Gibbed, with a founding year of 2009.
Its main strength is the breadth of save editing within a focused set of games. Players can adjust character stats and progression, alter inventory and equipment, and use item or weapon codes. Raw save-data editing adds a lower-level option for users who need more control than standard character fields provide.
