Our verdict on GharDesk
GharDesk is a property and rent management application for PGs, hostels, co-living spaces and rental properties in India. It maps rooms and individual beds, records occupancy and tenant identity details, tracks rent and deposits, and generates receipts, agreements, vacate slips and other documents. Owners can manage multiple properties from one login, while tenants do not need separate logins. The browser-based service can also be installed as a progressive web app and used across web, iOS and Android.
Pricing is charged per occupied bed each month, with billing based on occupied beds at the start of each cycle. Starter costs INR 15 per bed monthly and includes tenant and rent tracking, a bed map, seven print-ready documents and owner-controlled access. Professional costs INR 25 and adds bed transfers, handover slips, staff and attendance tools, Excel import and export, and priority email support. Business costs INR 40 and adds bank-statement reconciliation against UPI reference numbers, owner profit-and-loss and expense reports, role-based access, sub-users, dedicated onboarding and priority WhatsApp support. A 14-day trial is available without a card requirement.
For day-to-day hostel administration, the combination of bed-level occupancy, rent ledgers, payment receipts, expense tracking and multi-property reporting keeps core records together. The offline-capable PWA and home-screen installation support browser-based access, and GDPR is listed as a compliance feature. GharDesk is a strong fit for small operators focused on beds, tenants and rent, especially where low monthly pricing matters. Properties that depend on booking-channel connectivity or online guest check-in should choose a reservation-focused alternative instead.
