Our verdict on GGServers
GGServers keeps its Team Fortress 2 pricing about as simple as it gets: a flat $3 per gigabyte of memory, with player slots uncapped at every tier. SMALL is 2 GB for $6.00 a month, MEDIUM 4 GB for $12.00, LARGE 8 GB for $24.00 and X-LARGE 16 GB for $48.00. Storage is unmetered SSD rather than a quota, which suits a map rotation that grows over a season, and anti-DDoS filtering is included rather than sold as a tier.
Uncapped slots on a cheap plan is the genuinely useful part. A 32-player community server does not force an upgrade the way a slot-priced plan does; memory is the only thing you buy, so a lightly modded 24-player box runs happily on the $6.00 tier. An instant mod installer is offered for any game that supports modding, support is 24/7 live chat, and several servers sit under one account. The company has been trading as GGServers LTD since 2013 and states a network capacity of 1 Tbit across 11 data centres.
Reach and paperwork are the weak points. Although the about page claims 11 data centres, the TF2 plan picker only lets you choose between North America and Europe, which leaves Asia-Pacific and South American players out. The terms of service give Minecraft servers a 24-hour refund window and handle everything else case by case, with the money-back guarantee limited to a new client's first order. Nothing on the page addresses backups, SourceMod or MetaMod either, so plugin work is unassisted.
