Our verdict on Forme
Forme brings newsletter delivery and web publishing together for independent publishers and editorial teams. A rich-text editor supports images, video, embeds, and code; posts can be scheduled, emailed to subscribers, and published to a web archive. Publishers can add a custom domain, manage subscribers, and review open-rate, click-rate, and subscriber-growth analytics. The Journalist plan includes unlimited posts, newsletters, and subscribers, making it the entry point for solo publishers who want both channels without a platform fee on paid subscriptions.
Pricing starts at $19 per month for Journalist, or $190 per year. Both billing options include paid subscriptions through the publisher’s own Stripe account with a 0% platform fee, as well as draft encryption and full data export. Newsroom costs $59 per month or $590 per year and adds editorial roles and permissions, a draft review workflow, team analytics, and priority migration support. There is no free plan, so publishers need to commit to a paid tier to publish with Forme. The higher tier is most relevant when editorial review and team coordination matter; solo writers may not need those additions.
Forme’s publishing workflow extends beyond sending email: tags, series, RSS feeds, and sitemap generation support organizing and distributing a publication, while imports are available from Substack, Ghost, Beehiiv, and WordPress. Integrations include Zapier, Make, Webflow, AWS S3, Cloudflare, Resend, GitHub, webhooks, RSS, and a public API. Forme says drafts can be encrypted in the browser before reaching its servers. The product is cloud-based, with email support. Choose it if you want email and web publishing, a custom domain, and paid subscriptions under one roof; look elsewhere if a free plan or non-cloud deployment is essential.
