Our verdict on FluxDHCP

FluxDHCP is an open-source, self-hosted DHCPv4 server for administrators who want browser-based management without a commercial pricing model. It covers core address-management tasks, including IP pools and subnets, static MAC-to-IP reservations, per-device DHCP option overrides, lease lifecycle tracking, and DHCP packet logging. The on-premises deployment model suits teams that want to operate the service within their own environment, while the web interface provides a central place to manage DHCPv4 configuration. The GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 defines its distribution model.

Deployment is oriented toward self-hosting rather than a hosted service. Administrators can use Docker Compose or install the project manually with Node.js, with SQLite used for data storage. Configuration import and export, together with hot reload, supports changes without treating every update as a full service reconfiguration. The product also includes webhook notifications for events, MAC notes and blacklists for device administration, and DHCP packet logs for reviewing protocol activity. These features give FluxDHCP a practical operational scope for smaller or focused DHCPv4 environments.

Its boundaries are important when evaluating it against broader DHCP management requirements. FluxDHCP supports DHCPv4 but not DHCPv6, and it does not provide verified DHCP failover, a documented REST API, or administrative audit logs. That makes it a reasonable fit for teams seeking a lightweight, open-source DHCPv4 tool with self-hosted control, Docker deployment, reservations, logging, and webhooks. Organizations requiring dual-stack DHCP, failover, API-driven administration, or formal audit trails should choose a product designed around those capabilities instead.
