Our verdict on Fing Security
Fing Security scans connected networks to identify devices, router vulnerabilities, open ports, unknown devices, and hidden cameras. It combines device inventory, security checks, alerts, continuous monitoring, and network-management controls across Fing Desktop, Mobile, Web, and Fing Agent. The product is aimed at home users, IT consultants, managed service providers, and small businesses managing one or more networks. Its hybrid discovery approach and support for Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android, and web make it suitable for mixed environments where visibility and basic security checks matter more than enterprise-scale monitoring.
The free plan provides up to three scans per day, internet speed tests, network and ISP reporting, and troubleshooting tools. Premium adds continuous monitoring, advanced security, unlimited manual scans, monitoring for two networks, and mobile and email notifications. Professional is oriented toward teams, with shared workspaces, advanced search across networks, multi-user collaboration, filter templates, and advanced reporting. The published plan structure makes Fing Security accessible for occasional checks while giving active monitoring and collaborative workflows a separate place in the product lineup.
Fing Security is strongest when the priority is finding what is connected and spotting common network risks. Open-port scanning, unknown-device alerts, vulnerability checks, access blocking, internet controls, a local HTTP API, and IFTTT support extend it beyond simple inventory. It is a sensible fit for small networks and service providers that need discovery, security checks, and monitoring across varied platforms. Organizations that require topology mapping or deeper enterprise monitoring should choose a more specialized network-monitoring product instead.
