FileMage Gateway is a file-transfer server for organizations moving partner exchange and existing file-transfer workflows into public-cloud infrastructure. It runs as a virtual machine in a customer's cloud account and supports SFTP, FTPS, FTP, and browser-based file access. Its storage model is centered on customer-owned object storage, with endpoints for Amazon S3, Azure Blob Storage, Google Cloud Storage, and IBM Cloud Object Storage. Web, Windows, Linux, and API access are supported, making it suitable for teams that need both administrator controls and programmatic management.

The published annual license is $399 USD per instance per year and includes the FileMage Gateway license. The vendor also describes hourly application-server billing based on provisioned cloud capacity. Together, those options fit organizations that want an annual software license while managing infrastructure in their own cloud account, or that prefer capacity-based server billing. The product does not present a free plan. Its ecosystem fit is strongest for teams already using supported object-storage services, LDAP or Active Directory, and related monitoring or identity services such as Azure Log Analytics, Azure Application Insights, and Google Identity Services.

Administrative controls are a central part of the offering. User accounts can use passwords or SSH keys, while home-directory restrictions, path-based folder permissions, and user groups support controlled access. Audit logs include filtering, date ranges, and JSON export. LDAP and Active Directory synchronization and authentication can help align file-transfer access with existing directory systems. TOTP-based multi-factor authentication covers SFTP and the workspace portal, and the API can configure endpoints, users, keys, permissions, and audit logs. FileMage Gateway suits cloud-first teams that need object-storage-backed transfer services and detailed access controls. Organizations seeking a fully managed service outside their own cloud account may prefer a different approach.
