Feedreader review
A mature RSS reader with strong filtering and sharing, but limited platform coverage.

Feedreader is an RSS and Atom aggregation product for individuals, organizations, and media companies. Its desktop reader collects syndicated content, organizes feeds into nested folders, supports article tags and keyword-based smart feeds, and can download podcasts or other enclosures. Feedreader Online adds browser-based reading, while Feedreader Connect extends the product toward sharing, publishing, forwarding, and server-oriented distribution. It is best suited to legacy desktop users, publishers, and organizations that need more than a basic personal feed list.
The published plans show a free Standard Edition alongside paid editions. Feedreader MySQL Edition is listed at €29, while Feedreader Connect Personal Edition is listed at €39 and adds Connect functions. The plan list also includes a Feedreader OEM unlimited license and Connect Server editions for up to 100 feeds and up to 1000 feeds. This range gives the product a path from free reading to database-backed, branded, or server-oriented deployments, although the pricing presentation combines standard, personal, OEM, and server offerings rather than focusing solely on individual readers.
Feedreader’s standout strength is breadth within the RSS workflow: smart feeds can filter by keywords, folders and tags organize large collections, Intelliupdate schedules updates, and SSL connections support feed retrieval. Offline reading, multiple grouping and headline views, and Connect-based sharing add useful publishing and distribution options. The trade-off is ecosystem reach: the listed platforms are web and Windows, so users seeking broader device coverage should consider another reader. Choose Feedreader for mature aggregation, structured filtering, podcast downloads, or publishing-oriented sharing; choose an alternative if broad platform availability is a priority.
