Our verdict on FatPipe SD-WAN

FatPipe SD-WAN is an enterprise networking product for connecting branch offices, data centers, cloud environments, and remote users across multiple WAN links. It combines application-aware routing, application-based QoS, traffic steering, policy management, multipath load balancing, automatic failover, WAN optimization, encrypted tunnels, and centralized orchestration. Its deployment model covers on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments, with virtual appliances supported in AWS and Azure. It is aimed at organizations that need resilient connectivity alongside integrated network security.

Its strongest differentiator is the breadth of traffic control and protection in one platform. Multi-path load balancing operates without traffic duplication, while automatic link, session, and site failover helps maintain connectivity across changing WAN conditions. Security capabilities include a stateful firewall, UTM, IDS/IPS, DDoS protection, web filtering, encrypted tunnels, and MPSEC multi-path security. Direct cloud access and cloud breakout extend the design to cloud-connected networks, while BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP support can fit established routing environments.

Operationally, FatPipe Orchestrator provides zero-touch appliance installation, centralized WAN orchestration, and policy management. Those features suit distributed teams managing multiple sites, links, applications, and security requirements. The tradeoff is a more involved architecture than a lightweight SD-WAN focused mainly on basic traffic steering. Pricing follows a contact-sales model, so it is better suited to organizations evaluating a tailored enterprise deployment than buyers seeking self-serve plan selection. Choose FatPipe SD-WAN when multipath resilience, application control, cloud connectivity, and integrated security matter together; consider a narrower alternative when those requirements are limited.
