Our verdict on FastNetMon
FastNetMon is a network-level DDoS detection and mitigation platform for telecommunications providers, ISPs, hosting and cloud providers, data centres, and large enterprises. It collects real-time telemetry from sFlow, NetFlow, IPFIX, jFlow, and mirrored traffic, then identifies abnormal Layer 3 and Layer 4 activity. FastNetMon Community provides a limited open-source edition for basic detection and smaller networks, while FastNetMon Advanced is designed for production deployments. The platform supports Linux, APIs, and self-hosted deployment.
Pricing is structured around observed traffic per instance. The 10G plan costs $115 per month or $1380 per year and includes 10 Gbps of observed traffic, unlimited network devices, one support ticket per month, and one FastNetMon instance. The 40G plan costs $220 per month or $2640 per year, increasing capacity to 40 Gbps, support to two tickets per month, and instances to two. The 100G plan costs $350 per month or $4200 per year, with 100 Gbps, three tickets per month, and three instances. Enterprise supports up to 200 Tbps of observed traffic, unlimited network devices, dedicated support, and compliance assistance. A 30-day trial is also available.
Its strongest fit is for operators that want direct control over network telemetry and mitigation workflows. FastNetMon automates BGP Blackhole, RTBH, and BGP FlowSpec actions, can divert traffic to external scrubbing centres, and provides blocklist filtering, historical analysis, Grafana dashboards, and visibility for AWS and Google Cloud traffic. Integrations include Docker, GCore, F5, Cloudflare Magic Transit, and its telemetry and API ecosystem. It is less suitable for teams seeking application-layer protection or an included WAF, since its protection focus is Layers 3 and 4 and mitigation is network-level and on-demand.
