Our verdict on eLeDia Moodle Hosting
eLeDia Moodle Hosting is a managed service for Moodle LMS and Moodle Workplace, aimed at companies, educational institutions, and organizations without sufficient internal IT resources. It combines Moodle installation with hosting in ISO 27001-certified data centers in Germany. The service supports web, iOS, and Android access, and packages range from at least 50 users to larger Workplace deployments with 1,000 or more users. Existing Moodle environments can generally be migrated after initial analysis and planning.
Pricing is organized around user scale and included administration. Standard 50 users costs €150 per 3 months and includes 20 GB of webspace, installation, daily backups, a German certified data center, and the Moodle App. Sofort costs €300 per year for 50 users or more, with 20 GB of webspace, an own subdomain, installation and backup, and all updates and upgrades. Standard costs €896.10 per year for 250 users or more and adds an own domain or subdomain alongside installation, backup, updates, and upgrades. Extended costs €1,642.85 per year for 250 users or more and adds eLeDia additional plugins. Prices are shown plus VAT.
The strongest fit is for teams that want Moodle operations handled as an ongoing service rather than maintained entirely in-house. Automated or daily backups, Moodle version updates, security updates, monitoring, custom domain options, and migration support cover the main operational needs of a hosted learning platform. The Moodle App is included with hosting, while additional plugins are reserved for Extended packages. Organizations seeking a free Moodle hosting option or a narrower self-managed setup should consider alternatives; eLeDia is better suited to buyers prioritizing German hosting, managed maintenance, and a tiered path from smaller deployments to larger environments.
