Our verdict on Eino

Eino is an open-source Go framework for developing LLM applications, aimed at teams that want reusable components and typed orchestration in their own applications. It covers chat models, embeddings, retrievers and tools, then provides chain, graph and workflow patterns for composing them. ReAct and multi-agent integrations support agent workflows, while tool calling and execution flows connect model interactions to tools. Its Go focus makes it most relevant to Go teams; developers seeking a hosted, language-neutral builder should look elsewhere.

The framework’s standout strength is its orchestration layer. Typed graph compilation and validation give teams a way to define and check graph workflows, while streaming primitives handle incremental model output. Callbacks and tracing hooks provide observability extension points, and checkpoints support interrupting and resuming a workflow. These features suit applications where model calls, tool execution and workflow state need to be composed explicitly rather than assembled through a hosted visual interface.

Eino is distributed as source code and is self-hosted, with no subscription tier to compare. The listed integrations are OpenAI, Gemini and Claude for model providers, plus Langfuse and APMPlus. Documentation and community are the stated support channels, so teams should be prepared to work within that model. Choose Eino if Go, typed graphs and agent workflows fit your stack; consider an alternative if you need a hosted deployment, a JavaScript SDK or a broader listed integration ecosystem.
