Our verdict on Diablo III
Diablo III sends players into Sanctuary to create a hero and battle demonic enemies. Its campaign, seven playable classes, and equipment collection suit solo players who want an action RPG built around combat and character progression. Class-specific skills and resource systems give each class its own play style, while item collection supplies a continuing reason to refine a build. The PC edition is available for Windows and macOS.
Replay variety comes from more than the campaign. Adventure Mode offers another way to play, and enemies and treasure change between games. Skill runes let players customize abilities; followers and crafting extend the options around combat and equipment. Those systems make Diablo III a better fit for players who enjoy revisiting content and adjusting a character than for someone seeking a short, fixed campaign with little progression beyond its story.
Diablo III is a paid game, with no free plan. Blizzard's storefront lists paid editions, and the PC edition is sold through Battle.net; the available plan information does not establish a price to compare. Blizzard's support information also says mods violate its terms of use, so players looking for mod support should choose another game. Its listed support channels are documentation and community resources. Choose Diablo III for class-based action, item hunting, and a mix of campaign and replay modes; look elsewhere if free access or modding is a requirement.
