DevGuard is an open-source developer security platform for developers, DevOps engineers, security teams, small companies, and enterprise organizations. It brings dependency analysis, source-code scanning, secret scanning, IaC checks, container image scanning, vulnerability management, and supply-chain verification into one product. Deployment options include self-hosted software and managed SaaS, with web, Windows, macOS, and Linux support.
The Open Source plan includes all features, community support, and self-hosted deployment. It is free for public projects with an OSI-approved license. Business SaaS costs €449.10 per month with annual billing and includes 10 users, a fully managed instance hosted in Germany, an initial one-hour setup workshop, and 8×5 email support hours. DevGuard’s strongest fit is for teams that need broad software supply-chain controls rather than a single scanner. Its feature set covers SBOM generation and imports, VEX assessment and sharing, dependency firewall support for npm, Go, PyPI, and OCI container images, signed provenance, artifact attestations, in-toto recording and verification, and automated CI quality gates. GitHub, GitLab, CI pipelines, and issue trackers are supported. Teams wanting self-hosting or an open-source option should find the coverage compelling; organizations seeking a narrowly focused tool or a lower-cost managed plan should consider alternatives.
