Our verdict on Detectify Surface Monitoring

Detectify Surface Monitoring is an external attack surface management service for security teams that need to discover and monitor internet-facing assets. It maps domains, subdomains, IP addresses, ports, technologies, DNS records, certificates, and cloud infrastructure, then supports payload-based vulnerability testing, exposed-file and misconfiguration detection, subdomain takeover monitoring, and continuous change alerting. The web and API service suits teams seeking broad external coverage with REST API access to assets and attack-surface data.

The plan structure gives the product a low-friction starting point and a clear path to more advanced operating needs. Starter costs €0 per year and includes REST and GraphQL API scanning, standard integration templates, and email support. Standard costs €2,500 per year and adds SSO through Okta, Ping Identity, OneLogin, and SAML 2.0, plus two hours of expert onboarding and professional support. Professional costs €5,000 per year and adds unlimited users, two teams, internal scanning within one environment, all integrations, and five hours of onboarding. Enterprise costs €15,000 per year and adds unlimited users and teams, three internal scanning agents, customized modules and integrations, a service level agreement, and 15 hours of tailored onboarding. Surface Monitoring is also charged per domain on top of the annual platform fee.

Its ecosystem fit is a major strength for security operations. Integrations include Jira, Slack, Microsoft Teams, PagerDuty, Opsgenie, ServiceNow, Splunk, Webhooks, GitLab, GitHub Actions, MCP Server, and Workato, supporting ticketing, notifications, SIEM, CI/CD, and workflow automation. Choose it if you want continuous external discovery, cloud and infrastructure visibility, vulnerability testing, and broad routing options from one service. Consider an alternative if internal scanning is central from the outset or if per-domain charges complicate budgeting.
