Our verdict on DBHawk

DBHawk is a browser-based database security and access-governance platform for security, DBA, and data teams. It centralizes database access, applies fine-grained role-based and object-level permissions, masks sensitive data, monitors database activity, and produces audit and compliance reports. Its coverage suits organizations managing heterogeneous databases across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments, while browser, Windows, Linux, and API access support different operating models.

The published plans show two deployment paths. DBHawk SaaS costs $40 per user per month and is hosted and managed by DataSparc. It includes VPC peering, access control and data masking, SAML and LDAP SSO integration, a job scheduler, and standard support. DBHawk Enterprise deploys on your own infrastructure in cloud or on-premise environments and includes the same listed access, masking, SSO, scheduling, and support capabilities, with pricing handled through sales. There is no free plan, so the product is aimed at teams ready for a paid security platform rather than casual evaluation.

Integration and governance are central strengths. DBHawk connects with SAML, LDAP, Okta, Azure AD, ADFS, AWS Secrets Manager, Google Secret Manager, Azure Key Vault, CyberArk, and HashiCorp Vault. Its REST API and webhooks extend workflows beyond the interface, while SQL injection prevention, compliance reporting, scheduled reports, SQL automation, and browser-based query tools bring security and database operations together. Choose DBHawk if you need hybrid deployment, detailed access governance, activity visibility, masking, and enterprise identity or secrets integrations. Consider another option if you need a free plan or prefer a product without a minimum SaaS user requirement.
