Datum Storage review
A mobile-friendly decentralized storage service with S3 access and developer tools.

Datum Storage is a decentralized cloud-storage service for individuals and developers who want encrypted file backups across mobile apps and compatible backup tools. Access is provided through the Datum ID mobile app, S3-compatible applications, and an API. The service uses a hybrid network and supports end-to-end encrypted data storage, while blockchain-backed records provide a record layer for stored data.
Its strongest practical fit is compatibility. An S3-compatible storage endpoint connects Datum Storage with applications built for Amazon S3, including Arq Backup, Duplicati, Duplicity, and Duplicacy. That gives mobile backup users and developers several established ways to send or manage files without relying only on the native apps. Developers can also use the JavaScript SDK, which includes set, get, and remove operations. The combination of iOS, Android, API access, and backup-tool integrations makes the service more flexible than a mobile-only backup destination.
The published storage plans center on 1 TB for the first year. Additional storage is listed at $3.99 per terabyte per month, while the service describes that expansion as forthcoming. This makes Datum Storage a reasonable choice for users who value encrypted decentralized storage, S3 compatibility, and a first-year allocation, particularly when Arq Backup or another supported application is part of the workflow. It is less suitable for buyers seeking a permanent free allowance or immediately available paid capacity beyond the initial allocation.
