Our verdict on DataForge
DataForge brings visual data-warehouse and DataMart design together with model generation and maintenance tools. It is aimed at BI teams, data engineers, enterprise architects, and business users who need to define fact tables and dimensional models, produce SQL, and keep schemas aligned. Its layered modeling spans conceptual, logical, and physical views, while drag-and-drop fact-table design offers a visual route into warehouse structure.
The plans divide viewing and project work from platform configuration. The Analyst plan costs $280 per year and is described for business users; it allows users to view and create projects, generate and view SQL scripts, and work with RMD and fact tables. The Developer plan costs $850 per year and adds editing of other users’ projects, data-mart work, and the ability to run SQL scripts for data marts. A free trial is available with limited functionality for evaluation. Teams should match permissions to responsibilities: Analyst covers project and script creation, while Developer is the tier for cross-user editing and data-mart execution.
Beyond design, DataForge includes automatic DDL generation, data-mart creation and maintenance, database synchronization and monitoring, integrity and consistency checks, and model and schema version control. KPI and dimension registry generation with AI, plus an MCP Server and conversational Analyst Agent, extend the product toward metric documentation and conversational analytics. The listed integrations are relational databases and MCP Server. Choose DataForge when visual warehouse modeling, DDL, and schema upkeep are central; teams seeking a specified warehouse-specific connector or deployment option should compare alternatives, as those capabilities are not described here.
